The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has reported a net addition of 1.91 million members in April 2025. This represents a strong 31.31% increase over March 2025. Compared to April 2024, net additions have grown by 1.17%, indicating a greater awareness of social security benefits.
In April 2025, the EPFO enrolled approximately 8.49 lakh new subscribers, marking a 12.49% increase compared to March 2025. This growth is driven by expanding job opportunities, greater awareness of employee benefits, and the continued success of EPFO’s outreach initiatives.
A key highlight of the data is the strong representation of the 18–25 age group. In April 2025, EPFO added 4.89 lakh new subscribers within this age bracket, accounting for 57.67% of total new enrollments. This represents a 10.05% increase over March 2025. Moreover, the net payroll addition for this age group stood at around 7.58 lakh in April—an increase of 13.60% from the previous month. This trend reinforces the fact that the majority of new entrants to the formal workforce are young individuals, many of whom are likely first-time job seekers.
