DTDC Express has launched an all-women-operated dark store in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The new facility is part of the company’s DTDC Raftaar rapid commerce network, is designed to handle express deliveries within two to six hours while being fully managed by women professionals. Through its all-women workforce, the company aims to combine operational excellence with workplace inclusion.
“We have launched our all-women-operated dark store in Indore, which we refer to as our ‘Dream Store.’ This initiative represents the endless possibilities that lie ahead for the industry,” said Abhishek Chakraborty, CEO, DTDC. “We believe that empowering women in logistics is not just about inclusion; it’s about creating stronger, more agile teams that bring innovation and passion to everything they do.”
With DTDC celebrating its 35th anniversary, the CEO highlighted how the company is reimagining its network to “serve India’s next phase of growth.” He explained how the dark stores and smarter unit economics can help in meeting the growing demand from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across categories such as electronics, fashion, and health supplements.
The 700-square-foot facility is overseen by an all-women team who are in charge of everything from warehouse management and last-mile deliveries to cash-on-delivery collections and client servicing. The facility was inaugurated by Ajay Sukhwani, Vice President and Head of Integrated E-commerce Logistics, and Jayant Parekh, Regional Business Head, in the presence of senior leadership.
DTDC’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Ankita Tiwari, shared that the Indore store reflects DTDC’s core belief that diversity drives innovation. “We are not just opening facilities; we are opening doors of opportunity,” she explained, emphasising that inclusivity remains central to the company’s growth and talent strategy.
