Diageo India has appointed Chinmay Sharma as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

With over 20 years of global HR experience across leading multinationals including GSK, Philip Morris International and Procter & Gamble, Chinmay brings deep expertise in talent strategy, organisational transformation and capability building,” the company shared on LinkedIn.
Sharma will be succeeding Shilpa Vaid, who will, in turn, take up the role of Regional HR Director, APAC and Global Travel, at Diageo.

Prior to joining Diageo India, Sharma was associated with GSK for over 5 years. He joined the company in December 2020 as CHRO & Executive Vice President – Human Resources, India. This was followed by his becoming HR Business Leader, Performance Emerging Markets in July 2025.
Sharma was with Philip Morris International for over 8 years. He was first appointed as the Country Head, Human Resources – India, Nepal & Bangladesh, in February 2012, and then became the Head of Talent Acquisition – Asia in July 2013. In July 2014, Sharma was given the role of Director Human Resources – Hong Kong, Macau and Asia Headquarters. He was assigned as Director Human Resources, Reduced Risk Products in July 2016 and then as Director People & Culture, Malaysia in July 2018.
Additionally, Sharma’s time with Procter & Gamble was just over eight years. In July 2003, he joined the company as an HR Analyst and was appointed as Assistant Manager, Compensation & Benefits – Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe and Asia in April 2005. Sharma became Manager, Talent Practice in April 2007 and Manager, Human Resources in July 2009. This was followed by his taking up the role of Senior Manager-Human Resources, CBD (Sales) in March 2010.
