Dabur India held the groundbreaking ceremony for its ₹400 crore plant in Tamil Nadu on February 12, 2026, marking the company’s first plant in South India.

Located in Tindivanam in the Villupuram district, the plant will manufacture Dabur India’s line of toothpastes, including ‘Dabur Red’ and ‘Meswak.’ Personal care brands like ‘Dabur Gulabari,’ ‘Vatika Hair Oil,’ and ‘Anmol Hair Oil’ will also be manufactured at this plant. The plant’s production will scale up to produce ‘Real Juices’ and ‘Amla Hair Oil,’ among other products.

According to the company, this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will generate direct employment for at least 250 people and indirectly create thousands of jobs.

Chief Minister M K Stalin also attended the ceremony virtually, along with Minister for Industries TRB Rajaa, Industries Department Principal Secretary Arun Roy and several other prominent individuals, Dabur India revealed in a statement.

“We are proud to begin building Dabur’s first manufacturing facility in South India that will strengthen supply resilience and put ‘Made in Tamil Nadu’ at the heart of our growth in the region,” said Dabur India Ltd Chief Executive Officer Mohit Malhotra. “This ground-breaking is a defining step in building Dabur’s next chapter, with manufacturing that is faster, greener and closer to the consumer. Tamil Nadu gives us the platform to scale with agility and serve South India with greater speed and freshness.”

“The facility will feature state-of-the-art technology, operate entirely on renewable energy, and foster a truly inclusive workplace with a predominantly women workforce,” Saurabh Lal, Dabur India’s Global Operations Head, stated, adding that the new plant reflects Dabur’s vision for future-ready, responsible manufacturing.
