CIBC India has appointed Sreekanth Samudrala as Director – HR Business Partner, strengthening its people leadership team as the organisation continues to expand its technology and operations capabilities in India.
Sreekanth brings over 18 years of experience in strategic human resources, HR business partnering, organisational transformation, leadership development, talent management and people strategy across banking, technology, engineering and global capability centres.
In his new role, Sreekanth will partner with business leaders to align people strategies with organisational priorities, helping build a high-performance culture while supporting the bank’s continued growth and innovation journey from its Hyderabad technology and operations hub.

Prior to joining CIBC India, Sreekanth served as Assistant Vice President – Human Resources at HSBC for nearly five years, partnering with business leaders on strategic HR initiatives across the bank’s global operations, including HR business partnering, talent management, organisational effectiveness and leadership capability.
Earlier, Sreekanth was Manager – Human Resources (Head HR, India) at Bullhorn, leading the India HR function, including people strategy, employee engagement, talent acquisition, performance management, and organisational development, during the company’s growth phase in India. Before Bullhorn, he spent more than six years at IGT as Manager – People Partner (Head HR, India), responsible for the end-to-end HR function for India operations.
His earlier career includes HR leadership roles at Mentor Graphics, where he served as Senior Human Resources Generalist, and Collins Aerospace, where he began his corporate HR journey as Human Resources Generalist, building expertise across HR operations, employee relations, talent management and business partnering within global engineering and technology organisations.
Sreekanth holds an MBA in Human Resources from Osmania University. He has also completed the Leadership & Change Management Development Programme at XLRI Jamshedpur and a specialised programme in HR Analytics at the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak.
