For many employees, Diwali is a time for bonuses, gifts, and festive cheer but one Chandigarh-based company has taken celebrations to an entirely new level. The owner of a pharmaceutical firm, MITS Group’s founder and chairman MK Bhatia, went viral after a video surfaced showing him gifting 51 luxury SUVs to his employees as a Diwali surprise.

According to Dainik Bhaskar, the company honoured its top-performing staff with brand-new Scorpio cars during a grand celebration at its Chandigarh office. It’s actually the third year in a row that Bhatia has gifted cars to his top team members, a tradition that has now become a hallmark of the company’s Diwali celebrations.

In a LinkedIn post, MK Bhatia shared that this marks the continuation of a company tradition started two years ago, celebrating the most dedicated team members with car gifts. He wrote that he doesn’t see them merely as employees but as “the stars” who make the company’s journey a blockbuster success. Bhatia also mentioned that some of the vehicles have already reached their new owners, with more on the way, promising an extra special Diwali this year.

As reported by PTI, the car distribution event took place earlier this week and was followed by a lively ‘Car Gift Rally’, where the newly awarded SUVs were driven from the showroom to the company’s MITS House office in Chandigarh to mark the occasion.

Bhatia’s success story comes after years of hardship. In 2002, his medical store ran into severe losses, bringing him close to financial ruin. However, he turned his fortunes around, making a remarkable comeback by founding the MITS Group in 2015 — which has since expanded to include 12 companies under its umbrella.
