A study conducted by SHRM India has revealed that 79% CHROs see the adoption of Agentic AI as top priority, while only half of them said that their organisations are ready to implement it. The study titled Diriving Enterprise Productivity with Agentic AI was conducted in collaboration with Google and Cloud and Quantiphi, across 58 HR leaders across 14 industries.
According to the study, Agentic AI is the new mode of innovation which may aid in enhancing productivity of the workforce. Capability gaps (91%) and integration challenges led (71%) were marked as the two leading factors affecting the delayed adoption of AI in workforce. Some respondents (64%) attributed the delay to poor data quality. According to 53% of the respondents, cultural resistance and trust issues are delaying AI adoption, while 52% of the respondents attributed the delay to lack of governance.

Interestingly, resonating with this, 78% of the respondents said that AI helps in faster decision making, while 69% stated that it offers personalized experience. Meanwhile, 62% and 59% of the participating HR professionals also credited AI for bringing efficiency at work and driving digital innovation, respectively.
