Apollo Tyres has appointed R Mahalakshmi as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

“I am thrilled to join Apollo Tyres at such an exciting time in its journey,” Mahalakshmi shared. “What drew me to this organisation is its strong purpose, dynamic culture and bold growth agenda. I look forward to partnering with our global teams to further strengthen our people strategy, foster a truly inclusive and high-performing culture, and make Apollo Tyres an even more exceptional place to work.”

In her new role, Mahalakshmi will be reporting to Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Apollo Tyres. “Mahalakshmi’s global perspective, deep HR expertise, and people-centric approach will be instrumental in unlocking our next phase of growth,” said Kanwar. “We look forward to her to cultivate top talent, enhance company’s employer brand, and deepen employee engagement across geographies.”

With nearly thirty years of experience, Mahalakshmi has worked in India, Africa, the UK and Southeast Asia. In her new role as a key member of Apollo Tyres’ Global Executive Committee (ExCom), she will shape and drive the company’s global people strategy in alignment with its growth ambitions.

As a part of new responsibilities, Mahalkshmi will oversee initiatives to maximise organisational effectiveness, refresh and evolve people policies, and strengthen the company’s people-first agile growth culture.

Before Apollo Tyres, Mahalakshmi had been a part of Mondelēz International for nearly 10 years. She joined the company in September 2015 as Head HR India, and was then appointed as Head HR South East Asia in July 2021.

Mahalakshmi was also associated with Airtel for 7 years.
