American Express has elevated Shipra Sharma to Director – Colleague & Labour Relations. In the new role, she will oversee colleague and labour relations strategy, with a focus on strengthening governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering constructive workplace relations across multiple locations.
The appointment builds on Sharma’s long-standing association with the organisation, where she has spent over 14 years across India and the Asia-Pacific region.

During her tenure at American Express, she has played a pivotal role in setting up and scaling the Colleague & Labour Relations (CLR) function in India, aligning global CLR practices with Indian labour regulations, and working closely with Legal, CEG and business leaders to reinforce compliance and risk management.
Prior to this elevation, Sharma held several key leadership positions within American Express, including Manager – APAC Colleague & Labour Relations, Manager – Employee & Labour Relations, and Consultant – Global Employee & Labour Relations. Across these roles, she contributed to enterprise-wide initiatives covering employee relations, investigations, grievance redressal and policy implementation, while also supporting people leaders on complex workplace matters.
Other than American Express, Sharma served organisations namely, WNS Global Services, Spanco BPO Services, Hyper Quality India and Globalautn. Her earlier career helped build a strong foundation in labour law compliance, employee engagement, grievance management and people leadership.
