Aditya Birla Group Expands HR Leader Jamal Ahmad’s Responsibilities Aditya Birla Group has added responsibilities of senior HR leader Jamal Ahmad, appointing him to an enhanced role to oversee the conglomerate’s regional human resources agenda.

In his expanded role, Ahmad will be responsible for steering the group’s people agenda and organisational development initiatives across the region, with a clear focus on strengthening workforce productivity, building critical capabilities and sustaining high standards of HR governance.

The move underscores Aditya Birla Group’s ongoing focus on reinforcing leadership depth in people functions across its wide-ranging businesses. Ahmad takes on the larger mandate after close to five years as Senior General Manager and Head of Industrial Relations and Employee Relations, where he led IR and ER strategy across complex, large-scale operations, covering employee engagement, benefits design and compliance.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Ahmad is widely regarded for his ability to manage industrial relations in demanding manufacturing and industrial settings, balancing stability, compliance and workforce engagement.

Before joining the group’s corporate HR leadership team, he spent over a decade at Hindalco Industries, a flagship Aditya Birla Group company, rising from Assistant General Manager to General Manager and Head of IR and ER, and playing a key role in strengthening industrial relations frameworks.

Earlier in his career, Ahmad held HR and administration leadership roles at organisations such as ACC Limited, Bata India and Arush Metal Casting, handling responsibilities across statutory compliance, talent processes and workforce governance. He began his professional journey at Hindusthan Malleables & Forgings, where he built strong foundations in learning and development alongside compliance management.

By bringing together deep industrial relations expertise and broader people leadership experience, Ahmad’s appointment is expected to support Aditya Birla Group’s evolving workforce priorities as it navigates growth, transformation and increasing talent complexity across its regional operations.
