Alkem Laboratories has appointed Abhijeet Jain as Senior Vice President – Human Resources. In the role, he will lead HR across the company’s manufacturing plants, R&D and depot operations in India.
Jain joins the pharmaceutical major from UltraTech Cement, part of the Aditya Birla Group, where he served as Senior Vice President and Functional Head – HR. He rose through successive HR leadership roles at UltraTech, having earlier held the Functional Head HR position at the Assistant Vice President and Vice President levels.
He brings more than two decades of HR leadership across manufacturing-heavy sectors, with prior pharmaceutical experience as Senior General Manager – HR at Wockhardt and as an HR and factory manager at Pfizer. His earlier career spans roles at TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipment) and Tata Advanced Systems, giving him plant-level industrial relations, talent management and statutory compliance exposure across cement, pharma, engineering and automotive operations.
The appointment places a manufacturing-focused HR leader over the people function for Alkem’s plants, research units and distribution network, functions central to a company operating multiple production sites and an extensive field presence.
