Pratibha Setu by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is an initiative aimed towards providing alternative employment opportunities to those who took the recruitment exam but did not qualify for a UPSC position.
As per UPSC, 113 private companies have started to access the candidate pool through UPSC’s Pratibha Setu. As per the initiative, verified companies can access the data of those candidates who are willing and qualified but do not have recommendations.
“Several private organisations have started approaching the commission to access the pool of candidates who cleared the written exam and interview stages but were not finally selected,” UPSC said in a statement.
Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh has hailed Pratibha Setu as a “forward-thinking approach” to talent utilisation. He added that the initiative can help those aspirants who narrowly miss out on civil services opportunities, especially those who reach the final interview stages after clearing the previous rounds.
The Pratibha Setu initiative was launched in 2018 under the name of Public Disclosure Scheme (PDS). As per UPSC Chairman Ajay Kumar, the initiative has been well received by the board as well as aspirants.
Presently, Pratibha Setu includes Civil Services Examination, Indian Forest Service Examination, Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) Examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, C.D.S. Examination, Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, and Combined Medical Services Examination. The initiative will ultimately not only benefit the candidates who possess the necessary skills and knowledge but will also foster a transparent mode of recruitment.
