Global IT services leader Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) marked International Youth Day by showcasing its decade-long efforts to equip young Indians with skills and career opportunities. Since 2010, its flagship Youth Employment Program (YEP) has trained over 1.85 lakh youth across all states and union territories, providing them with marketable skills, industry-recognized credentials, and valuable certifications. This milestone reinforces TCS’s commitment to building an inclusive, future-ready workforce prepared to excel in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

Central to TCS’s efforts are merit-based programs that open doors for youth from diverse backgrounds. Its flagship Youth Employment Program (YEP), built on the ‘Teach, Coach, Mentor, and Place’ framework, has helped over 43,800 students secure formal jobs, including more than 41,800 young women and 12,500 individuals from underrepresented communities. Demonstrating its commitment to inclusive growth, TCS has also expanded YEP’s accessibility through a free digital learning portal, allowing eligible learners to access training anytime, anywhere, and bridging geographical as well as infrastructural gaps.

Joseph Sunil Nallapalli, Head – Corporate Social Responsibility, TCS, said, “Our Youth Employment Program is a testament to the transformative power of skilling—equipping young individuals with the capabilities and support needed to thrive in the workforce and helping them transition from college to careers.”

Alongside its core programs, TCS runs several targeted initiatives to develop future-ready skills. In FY 2025, the Ignite My Future (IMF) program helped over 5,800 teachers equip more than 266,900 students for the AI era by embedding Computational Thinking (CT) — a key 21st-century skill — into all core subjects. Meanwhile, the go Innovate Together (goIT) career readiness program inspires students to become innovators by applying their skills to address societal challenges. In FY 2025, goIT engaged 81,374 students across 50 countries, enabling them to use 21st-century competencies and emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and app design to tackle real-world community problems.

In rural India, the BridgeIT program has created a network of over 1,700 digital entrepreneurs — or ‘digipreneurs’ — predominantly women, who provide essential digital services to more than 744,000 people across 4,457 villages each year. By empowering local entrepreneurs, the initiative helps bridge the socio-economic divide and drive last-mile digital inclusion in thousands of underserved communities.
