EXL has promoted Pankaj Chandan Awate to Assistant Vice President – Human Resources (HR).

With over 17 years of experience in the banking and technology industry, Awate is known for HR strategies centred around improving performance and creating positive work cultures. He has led over six merger and acquisition projects with firms like Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY), Baltiboi, etc.
Awate’s areas of expertise include HR business partnering, compensation and benefits, performance management, global rewards, centres of excellence (COE), payroll, employee life cycle management, compliance (labour and statutory), and revenue assurance.
In August 2024, Awate joined EXL as Senior Manager – Human Resources, a role he held until his recent promotion. During his time as a Senior Manager, he contributed to the company’s mergers and acquisitions efforts, HRBP operations, HR analytics, and talent management.
Before EXL, Awate was a part of ITI Data. He joined the company in January 2022 as Human Resources Manager and was then appointed as Senior Manager HR in January 2023. From September 2019 to January 2022, Awate was a part of Wipro as HR Manager/Business Partner – Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA).
Awate was a part of Vara from August 2016 to August 2019 as Deputy Manager of Human Resources. He was also associated with 3i Infotech from April 2014 to July 2016 as a Senior Human Resources Specialist. In March 2011, Reliable Business Solutions and Services appointed him as Assistant Manager-Corporate HR, a position he retained until December 2013. From April 2008 to March 2011, Awate was a Human Resources Executive at Spanco BPO Services.
