Tusher Majumder takes charge as Head, Human Resources at Saurashtra Cement Limited, the flagship company of The Mehta Group, with his appointment effective 25 September 2026.
The company’s Board of Directors, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, approved his appointment at its meeting held on 6 August 2026. Majumder will also serve as Senior Management Personnel of the company.
Majumder, aged 53, brings 26 years of HR experience across the cement, chemicals, paints, automotive, petrochemicals and industrial sectors. His expertise spans HR strategy, digitisation, SAP, performance management, HR analytics, organisation design, capability building, leadership development and industrial relations.
Before joining Saurashtra Cement, Majumder was General Manager, Human Resources at Haldia Petrochemicals Limited in Kolkata.
From September 2017 to June 2021, a tenure of about three years and 10 months, Majumder worked with JSW Cement. He has also served at Varroc Polymers during his career. Between November 2014 and April 2016, Majumder was Head, Talent Acquisition at Pidilite Industries. Prior to that, he had a multi-year stint at Asian Paints, which he joined in 2008 as Senior Manager, Human Resources.
In the initial years of his career, from 2006 to 2008, Majumder worked with General Motors India as Manager, Corporate HR. His earlier assignments also included roles at Rallis India and GKW Limited. Majumder holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS).
