Infosys has expanded its collaboration with US-based Truist Financial Corporation and will onboard more than 1,000 employees this month at the bank’s AI-first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, the two companies announced on 19 October 2026.

The expanded engagement consolidates services currently delivered by multiple Indian suppliers for Truist into a single unified operating model covering technology, data, operations and artificial intelligence. Under a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) model, Infosys will build, scale and eventually transition what it described as a self-sustaining centre of excellence, with the facility designed to reduce the bank’s dependence on third-party vendors and develop advanced technology talent in-house.

“Infosys will leverage its Infosys Topaz platform and a Build, Operate and Transfer model to help Truist build a resilient, scalable digital core,” said Dennis Gada, EVP and Global Head of Banking and Financial Services at Infosys. Truist Chief Information Officer Steve Hagerman said the GCC would help the bank build global capabilities, accelerate innovation and improve the client experience while reducing operational complexity.

The 1,000-plus onboarding is the first visible milestone from a contract Infosys secured in March 2026, reported at more than USD 500 million over five years, with the Hyderabad centre expected to scale to around 4,500 employees at full strength. The GCC will support functions beyond IT services, including finance, human resources and sales operations for the North Carolina-based bank, which is the seventh-largest US bank by assets. Truist reported revenue of USD 20.52 billion last year.

India hosted 2,117 GCCs across 3,728 units in FY2026, employing about 2.36 million people and generating an estimated USD 98.4 billion, according to the Zinnov-Nasscom GCC Landscape 2026 report. Hyderabad accounts for more than 350 of those centres.

GCCs leased about 16.5 million square feet of office space in the first half of 2026, up nearly 38% year-on-year, and are on track to hire around 510,000 people in 2026, with 64% of roles requiring AI, data science or automation skills. FICCI and Anarock project India’s GCC market will reach USD 105 billion to USD 110 billion by 2030, with about 2,400 centres.
