Ford Business Solutions, the automaker’s global capability centre in India, plans to recruit around 500 employees in 2027, with much of the hiring focused on technology, data, artificial intelligence and connected-vehicle capabilities, per reporting dated 29 August 2026.
The centre currently employs more than 12,000 people in India, making the country one of the most important technology and business-services bases within Ford’s global operations. The move runs counter to the job-cut headlines across parts of the global auto industry, and reinforces a pattern visible across India’s GCC ecosystem: companies may be more cautious about overall headcount, but they are still competing hard for professionals with specialised digital skills.
The hiring plan leans squarely into AI and software-defined vehicle work, the capabilities Ford is building out of its Chennai technology and business centre rather than manufacturing, which the company exited in India in 2022. The emphasis on connected-vehicle and data roles positions India as a hub for the automotive industry’s technological restructuring, not just a back-office support base.
