A mega job mela held in Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam, on 29 August 2026 drew nearly 100 companies offering around 3,000 employment opportunities to local youth, organised through the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC).

The job fair aimed to bring job seekers and employers onto a common platform and enable direct recruitment for candidates from Gajuwaka and surrounding areas. It was open to candidates ranging from 10th standard and Intermediate through ITI, diploma, degree and B.Tech qualifications. Organisers said the large number of participating companies was meant to give candidates access to diverse roles while helping employers find suitable local talent. A similar mela in the area about six months earlier had drawn a strong response.

TDP state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao opened the event and described the turnout as encouraging. “We are very happy to start the Job Mela at Gajuwaka. Nearly 100 companies have come here, and they are prepared to provide 3,000 employment opportunities,” Rao said.

The event ties into a state-level push to keep young people employed within Andhra Pradesh. Officials referenced IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh’s stated vision of ensuring the state’s youth do not need to migrate elsewhere for work, with local employment created through the APSSDC.
