Lupin has appointed Bijender Vats as Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources, bringing in an HR veteran with more than 25 years of experience across pharmaceuticals, healthcare and life sciences.
Vats joins from FMC Corporation, where he served as HR Head for India and South West Asia, leading the regional people agenda. Before that, he was Group Chief Human Resources Officer at Crystal Crop Protection Limited, overseeing global HR and administration. A significant chunk of his career, more than 17 years, was spent at MSD, where his final position was Director, HR and DE&I Lead for the India Region.
In his new role, Vats will lead Lupin’s HR strategy, covering talent management, leadership development, organisational transformation and people initiatives tied to the company’s growth as a global pharmaceutical player. Lupin, headquartered in Mumbai, operates in more than 100 markets and develops branded and generic formulations, complex generics, biotechnology products and active pharmaceutical ingredients, alongside businesses like Lupin Diagnostics and Lupin Digital Health.
Vats holds an MBA in Human Resources from IIM Calcutta and is also an alumnus of Maharshi Dayanand University. His background spans strategic HR, organisational development, talent management, HR transformation and DE&I.
