Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) is establishing its first Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad, with plans to build a workforce of more than 2,000 professionals, targeting a July 2026 launch.

The GCC will operate through ANSR, the GCC enablement platform, with initial hiring managed through the Talent500 platform. The commitment was formally announced at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025. Roles at the centre will span software engineering, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and financial services functions — reflecting the growing trend of global banks using India-based GCCs for core technology and operations work, rather than just back-office support.

Hyderabad now hosts more than 135,000 GCC professionals across over 450 active global capability centres, with a particular concentration in financial services. CIBC’s entry adds to a growing cluster of global banks that have chosen the city for engineering and innovation operations. A Nasscom-Zinnov report found that half of all leading financial services companies that launched India GCC operations in 2025 chose Hyderabad.

CIBC is Canada’s fifth-largest bank by assets, serving more than 14 million clients across personal, business, commercial, and institutional banking. The Hyderabad GCC will be among the larger financial services GCC formations in the city when it opens.
