Thales announced plans to hire 450 employees in India by 2026.

The move is part of the company’s plan to recruit over 9,000 employees worldwide in 2026. For the past 5 years, Thales has consistently employed 8,000 people each year to support the growth dynamics of its three business sectors: Defence, Aerospace, and Cybersecurity & Digital.

In 2025, Thales recruited 8,800 employees, receiving 1.4 million applications worldwide. Out of the 2025 recruits, women made up 32% of the hires. Moreover, 69% of management committees at Thales have at least 4 women, and with the 2026 recruitments, Thales aims to increase this to 75%.

About 40% of the new hires at Thales in 2026 will be assigned to engineering (software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data) and 25% to industry (technician, operator and engineer positions).

“In India, Thales will recruit 450 people, spanning specialised roles in hardware, software and systems domains at its Engineering Competence Centres in Bengaluru and Noida and other functions,” Thales said in a statement. The company added that it aims to strengthen diversity within its teams, with women making up 33% of all recruitments in India.

The company added that, in addition to the 9,000 hires, 3,500 existing employees will also benefit from internal mobility. Thales is also pushing to upskill its employees, with over 35 internal academies focused on workers’ skills development.
