Ecommerce app Myntra has reportedly laid off about 50 employees to move a part of its operations from Gurugram to its Bengaluru-based headquarters.
According to media reports, the move will impact the company’s catalogue team as it aims to integrate certain roles into larger teams based out of Bengaluru while phasing out others.
This is aimed at centralising teams, streamlining internal processes and improving coordination, instead of responding to performance issues or artificial intelligence-led automation, reported Inc42.
The fashion marketplace said that it is going to offer severance pay, outplacement support and extended insurance cover to affected employees. However, the company refrained from making any public comment.
Interestingly, the restructuring comes despite a strong financial performance reported by the company, according to which Myntra’s net profit surged nearly 18-fold to Rs. 548 crore in FY25, up from Rs. 31 crore the previous year. Revenue from operations rose 18% to Rs. 6,043 crore.
