Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) has elevated Satyam Soni to the role of Head HR of the Expansion Project and Plant, marking a key milestone in his nearly 20-year journey with the organisation.
In his new position, Soni will lead the HR strategy for BALCO’s large-scale expansion and plant operations, with responsibility for manpower planning, industrial relations stability, statutory compliance, and contract labour governance during critical construction and commissioning phases.
His mandate also covers safety culture reinforcement, deployment of site HR systems and dashboards, and enabling a smooth transition from project execution to operational readiness.
Soni has held several leadership roles within BALCO over the years, including Head HR – Smelter Project & Job Rotation, Deputy Head HR of Growth Project, and Business Analyst to the CEO and Head of the Analytics Cell. In these roles, he partnered closely with senior leadership on productivity improvement, performance management, and cost optimisation initiatives.
His career journey at BALCO has also included assignments in business excellence, maintenance planning, and operations, giving him strong cross-functional exposure across aluminium manufacturing, large-scale project execution, and workforce management. This diverse background has helped him build deep expertise in HR strategy, industrial relations, and organisational transformation.
The elevation reflects BALCO’s confidence in Soni’s leadership as the company advances its expansion agenda and strengthens its people and project governance frameworks.
