Tata Steel has promoted Paromita Roy to Global Lead HR Strategy, Culture & Digital.

“Honoured to step into the role of Global Lead – HR Strategy, Culture & Digital, One HRM, Tata Steel,” Roy shared on LinkedIn. “In this role, I am responsible for shaping HR’s global strategic agenda across geographies, while driving a strong, unified culture and accelerating digital transformation across all entities. Grateful for the trust—looking forward to building the future of work together.”

Throughout her professional journey, Roy has learned much about HR practices in the field of compensation, benefits, and indirect taxation. Her core competencies include global mobility/trade union matters (compensation), statutory compliance (India – PF), and labour laws. Roy has also partnered with stakeholders by implementing cost optimisation initiatives through innovative solutions.

Roy has been a part of Tata Steel for over 15 years. She joined the company in May 2010 as Senior Manager, Total Rewards. This was followed by Roy taking up the HR Innovation Lab – Business Partnering in September 2019. In June 2020, she was given the position of Head of Total Rewards.

In October 2023, Roy became Head, Leadership Talent Development, a role she held until her recent promotion. She also worked for Tata Steel Nederland from June 2025 to January 2026, helping with Workforce Planning & Engagement. From July 2006 to March 2007, Roy was an Assistant System Engineer for Wipro.
