Amid the ongoing campus hiring season in Bengaluru, about 40% of the hires have reportedly been around AI-related roles. Demand for AI roles has gone up by 50% over the last year, indicating that colleges need to focus more on AI-related courses

In addition, recruiters are also attracting juniors with internships that often lead to pre-placement offers, as reported by The Times of India.

At PES University, approximately 850 students have already been placed, with the majority in AI and computer science.

Other than AI, recruiters are also looking for candidates with cloud computing, data science and product-related roles. Core branches remain relevant, with mechanical, civil, electrical, and electronics students still finding opportunities.

“There is a huge demand for cyber resilience jobs that can tackle these threats and AI for students to pursue,” said KN Subramanya, principal of RV College of Engineering.

He further added that a significant (30-40%) number of roles are around in cybersecurity and AI-ML roles alone. “From the 2025 batch onwards, every student will undergo mandatory AI fundamentals training. Cyber preparedness cannot be built by institutions alone — it requires continuous collaboration between academia, industry, and centres of excellence, coupled with public awareness,” he added.
