Jennifer Mathew Fernandes has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Bajaj Finance Ltd. Prior to this, she served as the Deputy CHRO at the company, where she oversaw HR Partnering, Learning & Development, and Talent Acquisition initiatives for a workforce exceeding 40,000 employees. Before that, she served as the CHRO at Bajaj Housing Finance Limited, where she led initiatives focused on productivity, workforce capability, and people-first policies that supported the company’s growth journey.
Jennifer brings nearly 25 years of experience spanning financial services and other industries. Over the course of her career, she has gained deep expertise in various areas of HR, including strategic initiatives, leadership development, employee relations, and talent acquisition and management, while ensuring strong statutory and legal compliance.
She has a proven track record in establishing HR operations, formulating effective people policies, and aligning talent strategies with business growth for sustainable success. Jennifer is also skilled in leading diverse teams, collaborating across cultures, and engaging with external consultants to drive impactful outcomes.
Earlier in her career, Jennifer worked with L&T Finance as Head – Group Compensation & Benefits and Business Partner HR, where she played a pivotal role in developing group-wide HR processes, compensation frameworks, and employee engagement initiatives. She also gained valuable experience through her earlier roles at Team 4 U, KGK Group, and Concast Standard Engineering (I) Private Limited.
