Uttam Shelake has joined Mahindra and Mahindra Limited (Automotive and Farm Equipment Business) as Manager – Human Resources.
He previously worked with Sany India as Manager – Human Resource (Senior HRBP), where he handled end-to-end HR deliverables across key verticals including Excavators, Electric HD Trucks, Spare Parts, Rental, and emerging businesses such as Solar and Green Hydrogen. In his role, Uttam collaborated closely with BU Heads and senior leadership to align people strategies with business goals, driving organizational effectiveness, talent readiness, and smooth HR operations across functions.
Uttam brings nearly a decade of experience and approaches his work with a strong sense of responsibility and a continuous learning mindset. He thrives on new challenges, contributes positively toward achieving organizational goals, and has consistently proven to be a valuable asset. Uttam aligns his personal objectives with the organization’s vision, prioritizing its success and growth at every step.
Uttam has also been associated with Hyundai Construction Equipment India Pvt. Ltd. as Lead – Talent Management & Talent Acquisition. In this role, he led the end-to-end Performance Management System (PMS) process across the organization, driving the review process through the 9-Box Grid to identify high-potential talent. He facilitated LOI 360-degree assessments, conducted focus group discussions, and developed Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for Hi-Pos. Uttam also identified successors for critical roles to ensure smooth leadership transitions and collaborated with line managers and HODs to design and implement Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
Uttam began his career with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd. as a Senior Officer – Human Resources, where he primarily focused on HR generalist responsibilities, gaining hands-on experience across core HR functions.
