Good news on the employment front! Global process intelligence leader Celonis is set for a major expansion in India. The company plans to make its India workforce nearly one-third of its global headcount by the end of FY27, highlighting the country’s growing strategic importance.
Headquartered in Munich, Germany, Celonis currently employs around 300 people in India, a number that is expected to grow to about 1,500 by the end of FY27, said Carsten Thoma, President of Celonis, during the company’s annual event, Celosphere 2025. Thoma shared that about a year and a half ago, he had coined the internal hashtag #IndiaIsOurFuture, reflecting his strong belief in the market’s immense potential.
Thoma also emphasized India’s growing influence on the global stage, pointing to the sharp rise in the number of Indian companies featured in the Fortune Global 2000 list—now at 65—and the transformation of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) into fully developed international hubs. He noted that the count of Indian firms on the Global 2000 list has increased from just a handful a few years ago to 65 today. Moreover, Thoma observed a clear trend of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India evolving into international hubs with increasing decision-making authority.
Thoma mentioned that the company expects to close the current fiscal year with nearly 300 employees, and the number is projected to grow to around 1,500 by 2027.
