The Labour & Employment Ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zepto to enhance employment opportunities across the country.
The pact was inked with the intention of enhancing employment opportunities as well as youth employability on the National Career Service (NCS) portal. Union Minister for Labour & Employment Mansukh Mandaviya was present for the MoU signing, according to the official release.
As per the MoU, Zepto will provide 10,000 job postings over the agreed-upon duration. This will create a predictable and structured pipeline of urban employment opportunities for youth, women, and first-time job seekers.
With this MoU, Zepto joins the list of companies like Amazon, Swiggy, Rapido and Quikr Jobs, who also signed similar MoUs and have already mobilised 5 lakh vacancies on NCS.
“The National Career Service (NCS) platform has emerged as a unique bridge between employers and job-seekers. With over 52 lakh registered employers and nearly 7.5 crore vacancies mobilised since inception, NCS has positioned itself as a one-stop solution for all employment-related services,” Mandaviya stated.
As per the Minister, the MoU will bring new opportunities for young job seekers while connecting Zepto with a suitable talent pool of human resources.
“By connecting with NCS, we aim to provide thousands of gig and full-time opportunities, helping to empower India’s youth and contribute to the nation’s economic growth,” said Kaivalya Vohra, Co-founder, Zepto.
Vandana Gurnani, Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, stated that the MoU between the ministry and Zepto will boost the formalisation of jobs and social security coverage.
Praising NCS for being a comprehensive portal providing job-matching, career counselling and skilling facilities, among others, she stated that the partnership will “pave the way for generating secure, long-term, and quality employment.”
