The DHL Group has announced the opening of a new IT Services (ITS) centre in Indore, showcasing the company’s long-term commitment to India as a hub for digital innovation and technology talent.

The new centre in Indore will be the fifth one set up by DHL in India, following the ones in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. It will also be the first dedicated technology training academy in the country. The new centre has boosted DHL ITS to nearly 6,000 strong globally, with 1,300 employees in India itself.

Through DHL ITS, the DHL Group is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to India. Over the past few years, the company has announced several investments to expand its operations and upgrade its facilities, supporting growing customer demand.

“Digitalisation is one of the five megatrends guiding our Strategy 2030, and India is central to building the digital backbone of our business,” said Supriya Rao Patwardhan, Executive Vice President, Global Head of IT Services, DHL Group. “With its deep talent pool and strong government focus on skill development, India is helping us deliver automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced digital solutions that improve productivity and create exceptional experiences for our customers.”

The DHL ITS centre in Indore, which is located at Brilliant Summit, has already employed 100 employees as of now. The company cited “thriving academic ecosystem and strong retention rates” as the reason behind choosing Indore as its new location.

“We are proud to be the first major international logistics player to establish a centre in Indore, a decision driven by our desire to expand into second-tier cities and tap into a vibrant new talent pool. Indore is home to numerous prestigious educational institutions, which allows us to collaborate on enhancing curricula and providing students with pathways to join DHL Group. Additionally, the city offers a higher retention rate of talent, reflecting a strong commitment from the local workforce,” shared Johan Berghs, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Digital Solutions and Head of ITS India.

Over the last five years, DHL ITS has expanded from one single office in India to five centres in under 18 months. Thanks to over 1,300 digital and logistics experts, ITS India is emerging as one of the fastest-growing technology hubs within DHL Group.

“In just eight years, and particularly over the last two, we have built a powerhouse of talent in India. What we offer goes far beyond jobs—we are creating career pathways, global exposure, and leadership opportunities for the next generation of technology professionals,” Berghs explained. With five centres across India and recognition as a Great Place to Work for three years in a row, we are excited about the future we are building here.”

As DHL ITS’s first dedicated technology training academy in India, the Indore centre will equip employees with skills in digital technologies, automation, AI, and leadership. It will connect employees with DHL’s global network and forge partnerships with academia and industry leaders. The centre will accelerate professional development while strengthening our ability to deliver innovation at scale.

“We are the Group’s technology partner where domain knowledge of logistics and technology trends converge,” shared Rao Patwardhan. “From AI-enabled logistics to robotics, IoT, and advanced analytics, all delivered on a secure and scalable platform, our teams are building global solutions that power ITS to be a sustainable and competitive advantage for the Group.”

“By driving innovation at scale, we ensure DHL remains the global leader in tech-enabled logistics—and ITS India, with its access to tech talent, plays a pivotal role in shaping that future,” Rao Patwardhan added.
